Good news for those looking for a brand-new crossover. SsangYong Berjaya Motor Philippines (SBMP) has announced that it has brought in the refreshed Tivoli—the Korean manufacturer's subcompact crossover offering.
If you ask us, this model is relatively underrated in a segment dominated by Japanese and American nameplates like the Nissan Juke, the Suzuki Vitara and the Ford EcoSport. This year sees the entry of a new Tivoli variant, the Premium Sport, which packs a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and a handful of neat upgrades.
Aesthetically, the Tivoli Premium Sport boasts an updated bumper, bolder foglamps, and a fresher set of 18-inch machine-finished wheels. Inside, you'll find new leather seats equipped with a cooling function—perfect for the summer—as well as new leather accents. Tivoli XLV units get upgrades in the form of steering wheel infotainment system controls.
Another new addition customers will appreciate in both the XLV and Premium Sport models is the availability of a proper spare tire. This replaces the tire repair kit from previous models. "Having a full wheel and tire package in the cargo area provides peace of mind to SsangYong owners as they venture out in search of their next adventure," the company says.
Below are the prices of the vehicles:
*SsangYong Tivoli Premium Sport – P1,160,000
*SsangYong Tivoli XLV Diesel 4x2 – P1,180,000
SBMP managing director David Macasadia says the brand strives to bring in offerings which are practical and stylish, whether for active lifestyles or average motorists. "SsangYong vehicles represent the wise choice among the myriad offerings from our competitors. Proudly made in South Korea, our lineup not only offers style but also substance with true usability and reliability minus the penalties of expensive maintenance," he added.
