The 2017 Geneva International Motor Show is fast approaching, which means that we'll soon be seeing a new batch of models and concepts to get excited about. Sure enough, we're already hearing bits and pieces of news from different carmakers as the event approaches. SsangYong is getting in on the action, too, having just announced that it'll be revealing a new concept this March—the XAVL SUV concept.
We don't have much to go on yet aside from the photos you see here. What we do know is that the XAVL, which apparently stands for 'eXciting Authentic Vehicle Long,' will be a seven-seater model that features in-car connectivity and digital displays. Its design is inspired by the '90s Korando model and is a further development of the XAV concept from 2015. Lastly, it will be powered by both gasoline and diesel mills.
If this SUV makes it to the production stage, it could be SsangYong's big leap into the competitive midsize SUV segment that's currently dominated by the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Do you guys think the Korean carmaker's future SUV has potential?
