Subaru has unveiled the Levorg Prototype STI Sport at the 2020 Tokyo Auto Salon, and if this is an accurate depiction of what we’ll see in the production version, we’re all in.
Flaunting a pure white paint job, bold lines, and some of the most well-sculpted proportions we’ve seen in a while, the vehicle is a clean, mean STI machine from any angle you view it. Pronounced front and rear styling and the presence of a hood scoop endow the prototype with a macho road presence, while its low stance and ultra-sleek roofline lend it a vibe that’s undeniably sporty. We’re also very big fans of the angular lighting units and how they’ve been pulled farther out to let the new grille pop out.
Sadly, not much has been revealed by the Japanese car manufacturer in terms of performance. Like the Levorg prototype unveiled at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show, this one probably packs a 1.8-liter turbocharged, direct-injected boxer engine—though that’s just speculation at this point.
Subaru has, however, confirmed that the Levorg Prototype STI Sport gets electronically controlled dampers (the first time ever in a Subie), a new Drive Mode Select system that allows you to change performance characteristics with the push of a button, and, of course, all-wheel drive.
