Unpopular opinion: White is the least boring color you can wrap a car in. Sure, nearly every model out there comes available in it, but its clean simplicity allows a vehicle’s lines, shape, and proportions—more important aspects of its aesthetic—to draw the majority of the attention.
If your ride stands out in white, you know you’ve picked a looker. This is why we’re such big fans of Subaru’s latest limited-edition release, the ‘Series.White’ WRX and WRX STI.
As the name suggests, both vehicles flaunt a stunning Ceramic White exterior paint finish.
The Japanese car manufacturer builds on this appearance further with 18- or 19-inch forged bronze BBS wheels, Crystal Black accents, matte-black badging, and a new mesh grille. The clean choice of color really allows these contrasting components to pop out.
There’s more here than a handful of aesthetic alterations, though. The less powerful WRX gets a performance package that includes Ultrasuede-trimmed Recaro seats, Brembo brakes, and a high-performance Bilstein sport-tuned suspension. The STI version boasts sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, a Bilstein STI sport-tuned suspension, and Ultrasuede seats with Carbon Black leather bolsters.
Of course, both cars are AWD and pack potent boxer engines: The WRX comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder capable of 268hp and 350Nm, and the WRX STI is powered by a 2.5-liter turbo’s 310hp and 393Nm. Both are mated to six-speed manual transmissions.
Now, the bad news: Each Series.White vehicle is limited to just 500 units each. If you really want one, the WRX Series.White costs $33,995 (around P1.72 million), while the WRX STI Series.White carries a $42,695 (roughly P2.17 million) price tag.
Do you dig seeing performance beasts in white, or would you rather see them in more playful Rally Red or Electric Blue finishes?
