If you are sharp and have been paying attention to our hints the past couple of months, you may have gotten the clue that Honda Cars Philippines is launching the Mobilio subcompact MPV. The Brio-based model is actually our cover car for the May issue, but we couldn't tell you just yet due to our confidentiality agreement with Honda.
Tonight, however, Honda is officially introducing the Mobilio, so we can formally announce it already. Our staff is now at the event, and we will give you the complete lowdown on this vehicle right after the launch. For now, we'd like to share with you just a couple of things: the engine for the Philippine variants and also the price list.
The Mobilio for our market will be powered by a City/Jazz-derived 1.5-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC gasoline engine rated at 118hp and 145Nm. This engine is mated to either Honda's Earth Dreams CVT (RS and V variants) or a five-speed manual transmission (E variant).
* 1.5 RS Navi CVT - P967,000
* 1.5 V CVT - P877,000
* 1.5 E MT - P807,000
You need to add P20,000 if you want the White Orchid Pearl paint job for the range-topping RS variant.
We will give you more details after the launch event. If you want to read our comprehensive story on the Mobilio, get our May 2015 issue.
