When the all-new Toyota Supra was launched in the US earlier this year, we were as excited as every other car enthusiast. The Supra is a legendary nameplate, and its return warranted our attention whether or not it was our job to give it. But one thing we didn’t consider was its imminent arrival on Philippine shores.

We’re not talking about an actual market release just yet—for now, we’d be happy just to see a Supra display at a major event. As cool as the Supra is, however, it’s very much a niche product for Filipinos, so we figured our market isn’t high up on Toyota’s priority list.

But while we were making the rounds at the 2019 Bangkok International Motor Show, one car immediately caught our attention. Is this a sign that Toyota’s sports car is headed here, too? At this point, we can only speculate—and hope. It’s a pretty exciting prospect, right?

True to its reputation for performance, the US-spec Supra runs on a 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six that generates 335hp and 495Nm, and has a claimed o-60mph (0-100kph) time of 4.1sec and a top speed of 249kph.

Want to see the all-new Supra in the Philippines? Who knows—maybe if the clamor is loud enough, Toyota Motor Philippines will take notice. In the meantime, check out our photos for a closer look.
