CATS Motors, the exclusive distributor of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the Philippines, has launched the new E-Class Coupé, a sportier version of the E-class sedan it launched in May.
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé’s entire front section was given a more sinewy build to give it a racier and more dynamic presence. Its rear wing also has a powerful contour reminiscent of that on the 1955 S 220 Ponton coupé’s. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé’s shape is also to be credited for the vehicle’s claim as the world’s most aerodynamically efficient series production car with a drag coefficient figure of 0.24.
The E-Class Coupé comes with a 3.5-liter, V6 engine capable of pushing out 272hp with 350Nm of torque, enabling it to go from zero to 100kph in 6.3 seconds before it tops out at 250kph.
CATS Motors vice president Bob Shaw said the E-Class Coupé was developed on a different platform to be able to make it “faster, more powerful and more responsive” than the E-Class saloon. Despite the different platform, people can still expect the same technical innovations in the E-Class series expected in a sports-oriented luxury coupe.
The top-of-the-line E 350 Coupe AMG Sport is available at P5.98 million.
