DPWH to repair parts of EDSA this weekend

Heavy traffic looms
Feb 19, 2010

Expect EDSA to be clogged for another weekend when the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) resumes re-blocking certain sections of the metro's main thoroughfare.

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) issued a traffic advisory saying two sections of EDSA will be closed to traffic this weekend for the repairs, the Inquirer said.

Areas which will be closed are the second northbound lane from Gate 4 of Camp Aguinaldo to the MRT station in Santolan and the third northbound lane from Nepa-Q Mart.

Repairs for both lanes will start at 10 p.m. Friday night and is expected to last until Saturday morning. The lanes, however, will be opened to the public early Monday morning to allow the concrete to cure sufficiently.

Here's hoping no one goes berserk this time and counterflows along EDSA again.
