Foton aims to attract more Filipino car buyers

Foton Motor Philippines (FMP) is optimistic it will attract more car buyers as it focuses on sales and marketing efforts for the rest of 2010.

“FMP aims to break new grounds in providing its customers with only the best, not only in quality but in affordability as well,” Foton said in a statement issued following its mid-year dealers’ conference early this month.

Foton entered the Philippine market in 2006. It currently has 11 showrooms nationwide.

“With its unrelenting efforts in providing excellent quality yet affordable vehicles, Foton achieved a very considerable market share in the automobile industry, outselling and outranking other major brands in just a short period time,” the company said. Foton did not disclose sales figures in its statement.

Foton’s lineup in the Philippines is composed of the MP-X van, the View van and the Blizzard pickup truck. Early this year, the Chinese car company announced plans of launching the Midi, a crossover vehicle with 1.3- and 1.6-liter engine options. Will you be lining up for it?
