Hyundai is getting ready to launch the Eon, the Korean carmaker's smallest car ever. The 0.8-liter city car will debut in India this October.

Developed at Hyundai's research and development headquarters in Korea and India in the past four years, the Eon will be built by Hyundai Motors India, the second largest car manufacturer in the sub-continent.

Powering the Eon will be a brand-new 0.8-liter three-cylinder engine with an output of 56hp and 74Nm of torque. With a claimed mileage of 21.1km/L, this makes the Eon the most fuel-efficient car in its segment.

Though the Eon reportedly shares the same platform as the Hyundai Atoz. The new city car will carry Hyundai's fluidic-sculpture design language, and some of its components will come from the Atoz and the i10

The Eon will also be generously equipped with features that are usually found on larger cars like front and side airbags, keyless entry, power windows, fog lamps, central locking and two-tone interior.
