Audi attempting to drive from LA to NY in just 48 hours

Audi has set off on a Los Angeles-to-New York coast-to-coast road trip with diesel-powered A6 and A7 sedans (and a Q5 as a support vehicle) \"to demonstrate the extended range and fuel economy provided by Audi clean diesel technology.\"

As Audi\'s 12 drivers attempt to complete the more than 4,500km journey \"in 48 hours or less,\" they also have to do it with only four refueling stops.

According to the German carmaker, each Audi TDI clean-diesel vehicle delivers up to 30% better fuel economy and 30% lower carbon-dioxide emissions than gasoline engines, \"resulting in a longer range and fewer trips to the fuel pump.\"
