PH fuel price update: Pump prices go down by P2.20/L for diesel, P2.10/L for gas starting August 9

UPDATE: August 8, 2022. Good news for everyone this week: Prices of both gasoline and diesel are going down.

Philippine fuel prices: August 9 to 15, 2022

The rollback for diesel is P2.20 per liter, versus just P0.60/L last week. Meanwhile, after going up by P0.75/L last week, gasoline prices are going down again by P2.10 per liter. This is for the period of August 9 to 15, 2022.

We will be updating this story with the net price changes of fuel so far this year. In the meantime, we’re compiling the fuel price announcements of oil companies below:

Philippine fuel prices: August 2 to 8, 2022

This week, the price of diesel went down by P0.60 per liter, while the price of gasoline went up by P0.75 per liter.

This ended three weeks of decreasing gasoline prices after July brought a total rollback of roughly P11. The rollback the week before was just P0.40/L, versus P5/L and P5.70/L in the weeks before.

For diesel, meanwhile, we were on a five-week downward trend, although this week’s price decrease was again lower than last week’s P1.85/L rollback. For the whole month of July, diesel prices went down by P12.95.

According to data from the Department of Energy, the year-to-date total adjustments to the prices of fuel have yielded a net price increase of P19.65/L for gasolineP32.35/L for diesel, and P27.30/L for kerosene as of August 2. Prevailing retail pump prices range from P66.26 to P85.30 per liter for 91-octane gasoline and P71 to P81.65 per liter for diesel.
