What better way for a company to market the quality of a product than to set world records with it? Chevron Philippines aims to do just that, having recently launched its new World Record-Breaking Fuel campaign.
The brand will release a two-part series on National Geographic’s Record Rides featuring Philippine celebrity KC Montero and Jamaican-Chinese professional rally racer Natasha Chang. The show will document how the fastest-recorded ascent on Doi Chang Mountain Road was beaten using a regular daily driver propelled by Caltex with Techron.
“As a leading visual storyteller, National Geographic’s programming pillars of exploration, education, and science resonate well with the Caltex brand. Hence, we are proud to partner with the channel to create Record Rides for our viewers and motorists in Asia,” said Caltex brand manager Brian Fisher. “This show will demonstrate how Caltex with Techron fuels can power an engine towards achieving an extraordinary journey.
“Caltex partnered with Guinness World Records and set a timing of 6min 52.692sec, with Natasha achieving the coveted title the fastest ascent of Doi Chang Mountain Road by using a 28-year old car. With the world record powered by Caltex with Techron, our campaign encourages drivers to fuel up the same fuel that set a world record and experience its power in their everyday drive.”
Caltex product engineering manager Greg Engeler emphasized how Caltex was able to create a premium fuel that is able to protect engines: “The Guinness World Records title achievement helps demonstrate how a clean engine powered by Techron can function at its most optimum, which includes delivering maximum power to your wheels. This is the same fuel that our customers can experience at their neighborhood Caltex stations to power their everyday drive.”
During the campaign launch, Caltex Philippines also introduced its newest ambassador: Philippine actor and celebrity Dingdong Dantes.
