Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc. (CCBPI) isn’t joking around when it comes to keeping its personnel healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company has purchased 200 brand-new units of the Wigo, Vios, and Hilux in a move meant to protect its sales associates on the job. CCBPI says these vehicles will serve as an extra layer of security for sales personnel serving the country’s countless sari-sari stores, carinderias, and other micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME).
“We serve almost 1M sari-sari stores and over 5,000 business partners—therefore having reliable, safe, and efficient vehicles for our sales force is very important in our business operations, Ronald Tamayo, CCBPI procurement director, said in a statement.
“More importantly, the safety and well-being of our personnel have always been a priority, and this refresh and update of our service fleet will also allow them to carry out their duties with more safety,” he added, explaining the new rides will help the company fulfill its duty to stakeholders.
The brand-new Toyotas will replace decommissioned vehicles and will be maintained by Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) leasing partner Orix Rental Corporation.
"We, at Toyota, are glad to be helping the country move forward by providing mobility to people and industries, especially now when transportation remains to be a challenge for many,” TMP new mobility business division vice president Ma. Cristina Fe Arevalo said in a statement.
“With Toyota's commitment to delivering quality, durability, reliability, and safety, we're confident that our vehicles will further empower CCBPI to deliver products, services, and opportunities to countless families and communities,” the executive added.
So, what do you think of the new additions to Coca-Cola’s local fleet? It’s hard to argue with choosing Toyota, but would you have gone with a different brand? Let us know in the comments.
