There’s a special feeling of anticipation when you’re about to buy a new car. After months (years?) of research, asking your car-geek friends, taking notes, and reading tea leaves, you’ve made up your mind. You’ve even managed to save up enough funds to pay for your future ride in cash.

Bayong full of cash in hand, you go to your friendly neighborhood car dealership. You can already smell the new-car scent. But as you sit down with the salesperson and state the model and color you want, you hear that dreaded term: waiting list. But, if you pay via financing (meaning to say you fork out more money over time), there’s a ready unit in the lot now.

Based on the latest sales promo of Ford Philippines, it seems as if this won’t be a problem in its showrooms. You see, the American carmaker is encouraging cash sales by offering substantial discounts if you offer them a bayong or two with enough paper money.

For the whole of May 2019, cash buyers of the Everest 2.2L Ambiente 4x2 automatic or manual variants will get a P190,000 discount. Ranger buyers will get a P45,000 discount for the 2.0L Wildtrak 4x2, 2.2L XLT 4x2, 2.2L XLS 4x4, and 2.2L XLS 4x2 variants. Those opting for the 2.0L Wildtrak 4x4 AT will get a P60,000 discount.

Of course, there’s nothing wrong with paying through bank financing, as long as you were not pressured into doing so. Ford is also offering deals for those who want to make a purchase this way. The Everest 2.2L Titanium+ 4x2 AT can be purchased via financing at 0% interest over a four-year loan period. There are also low down-payment offers for the Ranger and the EcoSport.

For more information, you can go to a Ford dealer near you.
