Isuzu Philippines Corporation has turned over three tons of used lead-acid batteries and 3,000 liters of used industrial oil to ABS-CBN Foundation\'s \"Bantay Kalikasan\" program in line with its \"continuing relevant advocacies on environmental protection and preservation.\"
IPC turned over the used batteries and industrial oil as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives. According to the Japanese truckmaker, included in the ABS-CBN Foundation program are the Bantay Baterya and Bantay Langis projects that encourage companies to donate waste products that have been earmarked for disposal. Once these are accepted, Bantay Kalikasan and its partners--Genetron International Marketing and Oriental & Motolite Marketing Corporation--process all the documents required by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. These waste products are then transported, stored, treated and recycled. The monetary value of the recycled products is then turned over to the ABS-CBN Foundation.
\"Isuzu Philippines Corporation conducts its operations with the utmost respect for the environment in mind,\" said IPC vice president for manufacturing Koichi Tamura. \"Our donation to ABS-CBN Foundation’s Bantay Kalikasan program shows how serious we are in pursuing our corporate advocacy for clean and green manufacturing.\"
