Just a couple of weeks back, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) lent out some of its vehicles to aid in the transport of healthcare workers within the cities of Biñan and Santa Rosa in Laguna. Now, the carmaker is deploying even more of its vehicles, this time to the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

Two modern PUV units—one Isuzu NLR and one Isuzu QKR—have been turned over to the agency. These will add to the DOTr’s fleet of vehicles that are currently providing free transport for frontliners across Luzon. This is the same fleet that received the Star 8 Solar eJeepney units and Dongfeng PUVs in recent weeks.

Moreover, some of IPC’s dealerships—namely, Isuzu Inteco, Isuzu-BMD, and Isuzu Iloilo—have also reached out to their respective communities by lending out vehicles and providing relief goods to aid in COVID-19 response.

“With this additional vehicle support, we at IPC hope that our dedicated and enduring heroes in the hospitals would find comfort and safety in their transport. Through our vehicles, we can help them fight the virus more efficiently and effectively,” said IPC president Hajime Koso.

As of this writing, the enhanced community quarantine has been extended until April 30. If you want to read more of our stories on the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, click here. For more updates, watch this space.
