Life Cycles PH donates 65 bicycles to Robinsons frontliner workers

Bikes will be a big part of the new normal

Remember: Frontline workers aren’t limited to just healthcare professionals. Delivery riders, police and military personnel, and utility workers are out there risking their lives, too. Add mall personnel to that list.

With this in mind, Life Cycles PH, which has been helping out those in need of personal transport throughout the COVID-19 health crisis, has donated 65 bicycles to Robinsons Malls personnel—just in time for the opening of malls in Metro Manila under the modified enhanced community quarantine period (MECQ).

This act is more than just a gesture, though.  Life Cycles PH is hoping that the current focus on personal transportation will be the start of a cycling revolution that will lead to more biking infrastructure in the country.

Life Cycles PH’s vision may just become a reality, too. Over the past few weeks, politicians and local governments have paid more attention to the plight of cyclists amidst the lack of public transportation alternatives. A bill called the Safe Pathways Act has also been filed in the Philippine Senate in hopes of making movement safer for cyclists and pedestrians,  while the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is now looking into placing proper bike lanes on EDSA.
