Mitsubishi PH 1st in local auto industry to receive IMS certification

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation has obtained the Integrated Management Systems (IMS) certification after concluding an audit last month. The first in the local automotive industry to receive the IMS certification, MMPC earned the certification from TÜV SÜD PSB Philippines, an internationally recognized firm providing a comprehensive and independent suite of product testing, inspection and certification services.

The IMS certification incorporates three core international standards--quality, environment, and health and safety--in managing its systems. The IMS is just one of the certifications MMPC has received. The Japenese carmaker also boasts other certifications: Quality Management System (ISO 9002:1994), acquired in 1999; and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:1996), acquired in 2001.

TÜV SÜD PSB Philippines deputy general manager Femelyn Lati presented the IMS certificates to MMPC executives, led by president and CEO Hikosaburo Shibata.
