As you know, we\'re currently running a poll to determine the \"80 cars that blazed a trail,\" in celebration of Petron\'s 80th anniversary this year. We have three updates for you on this: First is that the Nissan GT-R is currently leading the poll; second is that we have extended the poll\'s deadline to July 28; and third is that we have already eliminated the registration requirement so you can freely vote to your heart\'s content.
There are 200 cars to choose from, the list of which you will find here. You are allowed to vote a maximum of 10 cars each day, and you may vote every day until the last day of the poll. Joining the Nissan GT-R on the current top 10 list are the Volkswagen Beetle, the Toyota 86, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV, the Subaru Impreza WRX STI, the Ford Mustang, the Porsche 911, the Bugatti Veyron, the Lexus LFA and the Mini Cooper.
Take note that we are not necessarily looking for the best or most beautiful cars. We\'re looking for cars that contributed significantly to the progress of the automobile--cars that were so ahead of their time that they ultimately elevated the standards in their respective segments (if not the whole auto industry).
