If you're a lady, you most likely know already that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is being observed every year around the world. In the Philippines, cosmetics and personal-care company Avon has been a leading figure in the fight against breast cancer.
Yesterday, October 12, Avon Philippines held its "Pink WAR (Walk and Run) Against Breast Cancer" event at the SM Mall of Asia open grounds. The event featured 5km and 10km distances for runners who came to support the campaign.
Many participants may have been delighted by the presence of such celebrities as Solenn Heussaff, Kris Bernal and Rocco Nacino, but car fans (in particular Ford customers) were surely entertained by the appearance of a pink Ford EcoSport. The American carmaker has been a supporter of Avon's breast-cancer-awareness program for years, and it was only fitting that it should send its newest baby to the event, all garbed in pink, the color associated with breast cancer awareness.
Unfortunately, the EcoSport is not available in pink in our market.
