Singer Mitoy Yonting, winner of the first season of The Voice Of The Philippines, today received his brand-new Ford Focus 2.0 Sport+ from executives of Ford Philippines. The car is part of his haul for having emerged victorious in the wildly popular singing competition. Mitoy went to the venue, the Ford Makati showroom, with his wife.
A veteran entertainer--he had been part of a band called The Draybers and appeared on Eat Bulaga! prior to joining the contest--Mitoy got teary-eyed when he accepted his new car. \"Ito pala yung feeling ng makakuha ng kotse...nakakaiyak,\" he said.
Mitoy was particularly intrigued by the Focus\'s SYNC communications and entertainment system. He was also surprised to know that the car has no actual key, but just a key fob. \"Ang high-tech naman,\" he noted.
After the handover, Mitoy was supposed to proceed directly to ABS-CBN for a Christmas special rehearsal, but said he\'d take the car out for a spin first. He now plans to drive to Pangasinan to have the car blessed in Manaoag.
