Subaru’s high-performance vehicles feature top-of-the-line technology that not only enhances the overall driver experience, but improves the safety of the vehicle as well. As a matter of fact, the Japanese carmaker recently merited top ratings in the Japan New Car Assessment Program (JNCAP).
The new Forester bagged the Grand Prix Award for collision safety performance and received Advanced Safety Vehicle Triple Plus (ASV+++) rating for preventive safety performance. The all-wheel-drive crossover SUV features pedestrian protection airbags and the Subaru Global Platform—an architecture common among Subaru vehicles which enhances passenger protection.
The XV and Impreza, on the other hand, have both received ASV+++ ratings for preventive safety performance assessments. These two models are also equipped with Subaru’s unique Eyesight driver assist system, which uses a pair of cameras that enable an array of safety features. Both the XV and Impreza also bagged the Grand Prix Award for collision safety performance in 2017.
“Subaru will continue to enhance its primary, active, passive, and pre-crash safety technologies under its ‘all-around safety’ principle, which underpins enjoyment and peace of mind for all drivers and passengers, and target to eliminate traffic accident deaths by 2030,” Subaru stated in its press release.
