Suzuki PH sees 21.17% sales growth in 2019

The company ends the decade on a high note

The past year was a strong one for Suzuki Philippines (SPH). By the second half of 2019, the Japanese carmaker had already climbed to fifth in sales here in the local market; at the end of the third quarter, it reported a 19% increase in year-to-date sales versus the previous year.

Now, it seems that the final quarter was even better for SPH—the company reports that it has ended 2019 with a 21.17% overall increase in sales.

“We in Suzuki Philippines are proud to have ended 2019 on a high note. The past year is testament to our accomplishments in our feat to gain the trust of the Filipinos that we are able to give them quality driving experience,” says Keiichi Suzuki, SPH director and general manager for automobile division. “As we enter a new year, it is our responsibility to assure our customers that we will continue to be ambitious as we thrive to exceed their expectations through the products and services we offer.”

The top-selling models in the SPH lineup were the Ertiga, the Vitara, and the Celerio. The three models accounted for 55% of the company’s total sales in 2019. Of that total, 34% belonged to the Ertiga, 11% to the Vitara, and 10% to the Celerio.

“Last year was a landmark year for us and we share this success with our customers who continue to support our brand as we continuously provide them with more options that cater to their idea of driving in comfort with newer offerings geared toward the fulfillment of our mission,” Suzuki adds.

SPH has also announced that Keiichi Suzuki has been appointed as the new vice president of the company effective January 1, 2020, a role he will be performing concurrently with his existing assignment.
