Whether you're a regular motorist or a businessman looking to augment the company fleet, the Philippine International Motor Show usually has something on display to suit your interests. PIMS first-timer Foton Philippines, distributed locally by the United Asia Automotive Group, showcased its varied vehicle line-up at the biennial motor show earlier this month. The booth catered to quite a wide audience.
Immediately noticeable as you entered the booth were the two trucks on display. The larger one was the GTL Tractor Head. The heavy duty truck is powered by a Cummins diesel engine, has a payload of 16,070kg, and a maximum towing weight of 80,000kg. Beside it was the smaller Tornado light duty truck. Both vehicles come equipped with common rail diesel injection.
For the everyday motorists, Foton showcased three of their consumer offerings: the recently-launched Toplander Xtreme, the Gratour, and the Toano. The Toplander SUV on display at PIMS was adorned with off-road extras like a snorkel, rain gutters, tow hitch plus 20-inch alloy rims, and 265/50 all-terrain tires.
Priced at just P490,000, the Gratour is Foton's most affordable vehicle. The seven-seater minivan is Euro IV compliant and boasts ample leg room and cabin space, as well as respectable fuel efficiency.
On the other side of the spectrum is the Toano, a fifteen-seater executive van that's also powered by a Cummins diesel engine. The variant on display was the limited Executive variant which features a high roof, individual adjustable headrest and backrest, automated electric footboard, and dashboard panel with multi-information display. Its nautical-inspired interior includes leather captain's seats, blue LED pin lights, and a comprehensive entertainment system.
What do you guys think of Foton's vehicle line-up?
