The recent arrival of the Volkswagen Santana in our country has understandably created a lot of buzz, most likely because it's entering a leading segment with an undisputed ruler. But it's just one out of a handful of new cars that Volkswagen has brought in to try and create a ripple in the market.
On May 26 and 27, Volkswagen Philippines will take the Santana, Lavida, and new Tiguan on a nationwide mall tour to bring them closer to the public. From 9am to 10pm, Makati residents can see them in the metal at the Glorietta Activity Center. Up north, the cars will be on display from 11am to 10pm on Saturday and from 10am to 10pm on Sunday at the Eastwood Mall Atrium. And in Cebu, you can check them out from 10am to 10pm at Ayala Center Cebu. During the mall tour, Volkswagen Lifestyle merch will be handed out to customers who inquire or book a test drive.
The P686,000 Santana, which will face off against bestsellers like the Toyota Vios and Honda City, is powered by a 1.4-liter mill with 89hp and 132Nm, paired to a five-speed manual transmission. Available exterior colors are Polar White, Reflex Silver, Pepper Grey, and Deep Black.
