The diesel-fed, 3-liter V6 long wheelbase variant of the Jaguar XJ has been named the Car of the Year by a British publication.
The XJ, Jaguar’s flagship model, outscored its competitors like the Mercedes-Benz S350 LWB and last year’s winner, the BMW 730Ld in the Chaffeur Car of the Year category. It also finished in the top three in the Executive Car category of the Professional Driver's Car of the Year search.
“The new Jaguar XJ makes a statement that none of its rivals can match,” said Mark Bursa, editor of Professional Driver. “The judges loved the XJ’s looks, its beautiful and distinctive interior and outstanding driving dynamics.”
Jaguar also credited the brand’s Chauffeur Program as essential to the XJ’s being named as the Chauffeur Car of the Year.

The annual Professional Driver awards are judged by more than thirty experts from the chauffeuring and private hire sector, and the motoring media. The vehicles are rated using 10 different criteria that are considered most important to professional drivers like appearance, driving dynamics, rear seat comfort and legroom.
