With its K9 flagship sedan due to go on sale in May in its home market of South Korea, Kia has finally revealed the luxury features it'll carry that aren't currently available on any South Korean-manufactured vehicles to date.
Leading the charge of the K9's plethora of advanced features is its 'shift by wire' system, an electronic transmission lever that allows the driver to shift gears more easily and smoothly. The K9 will also introduce to the Korean domestic market its full-color heads-up display and 'flex steer' systems. According to Kia, the 'flex steer' system allows the driver to select from a number of driving modes (like normal, eco, snow and sport), with each one regulating the engine, transmission, steering and suspension settings "to create an optimal balance between driving comfort, performance and fuel economy."
Other features that the Kia K9 will carry are adaptive cruise control, full-adaptive LED headlamps and a UVO telematics system that enables drivers to turn on the K9's engine and air-conditioning system by using only their smartphones.
Powering the Kia K9 is one of two V6 engines: a 3.3-liter, 300hp mill or a 3.8-liter, 344hp powerplant.
Should Columbian Autocar Corporation, the authorized distributor of Kia vehicles in the Philippines, bring in the K9, or should it concentrate on bringing in the Optima first?
