After a three-month nationwide poll, the Kia Sorento was declared as the Philippines' Automobile of the Year at the 2010 Auto Focus People’s Choice Awards.
The Kia Sorento garnered a total of 42,626 votes from print and online channels, nearly twice as many as the votes earned by the 2009 winner, the Hyundai Grand Starex.
"This annual exercise empowers the public to express its choices and preferences among the current-model automobiles available in the country without necessarily making a purchase but by just casting its vote," said Auto Focus' producer and Sunshine Television's chairman and chief executive Ray "Butch" Gamboa. "Ultimately, this annual exercise that determines the most preferred models in each category and the most of popular automobile in a given year hopes to improve the overall quality of vehicles that are being sold in the country."

Award-winning vehicles and other cars from various brands will be on display at the Auto Focus Motor Show and Auto Expo from November 4 to 7 at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds. During the car show, visitors can check out the vehicles and even test some of the units just before they buy a new car for the Christmas season.
