There's more to love about the Kia Soul.
Kia's latest offering scored five stars on the European New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP), which measures the safety of the people inside and outside a vehicle.
The Kia Soul got five stars on the NCAP's tests on frontal offset, side impact and pole crash tests. The Soul also protected is occupants well against whiplash injuries.
However, as good as the Kia Soul was to its occupants, it could only manage a ‘marginal' rating for pedestrian safety, with the bonnet fairing poorly when it came to protecting a pedestrian's legs and head.
The Soul's full NCAP test results are as follows:
For adult occupant protection, the Soul scored 31.2 points out of 36; for child protection, 42 out of 49; for pedestrian safety, 13.9 out of 36; and for safety assist, 6 out 7.
The new Kia is already proving to be a revelation compared with its predecessors.
TopGear.com.ph earlier reported the Kia Soul may be available in the local market as early as July.
Its local distributor, Columbian Autocar Corporation, might have a hit on its hands since the Soul is looking good indeed.
