DOTr announces shorter MRT-3 operating hours for the holidays

The agency is expecting few passengers

Planning to travel across the city by train during the holidays? If yes, you may want to plan ahead because the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced that the MRT-3 will implement shorter operating hours during the Yuletide season.

In a post released on the DOTr's official Facebook page yesterday, the agency said it was implementing the shorter schedules "in anticipation of the low turnout of MRT-3 passengers" on December 24, 25, 30, 31, and January 1, 2017. Below is the temporary schedule:

*December 24 – 4:45am to 8:26pm

*December 25 – 6:30am to 9:50pm

*December 30 – 4:45am to 9:50pm

Will the MRT-3's adjusted operating hours affect your last-minute Christmas shopping schedule? Unless you don't mind taking a car and being stuck in deadlock traffic around malls, then the answer is probably yes. Again, remember to plan accordingly. Merry Christmas, guys.
