The Department of Public Works and Highways is getting ready for the construction of its planned Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), an infrastructure project under the government\'s Public Private Partnership Program, by accepting pre-qualification documents from interested bidders.
According to the DPWH, the Cavite-Laguna Expressway project involves the financing, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the four-lane, 46.6km closed-system tolled expressway that will connect the Manila-Cavite Expressway to the South Luzon Expressway.
The agency hopes that once the project is completed, CALAX will provide a \"faster, safer and more reliable route between Bacoor and Kawit in Cavite, the areas of Laguna, and those along the South Luzon Expressway.\"
Bidders of the P35-billion road project have until October 23 to submit the pre-qualification documents required by the agency.
