Another weekend, another round of roadwork advisories. This time, the memo is from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and it covers the road repairs and reblocking to take place on major thoroughfares in Quezon City and Pasig from October 12 to 15, 2018.

Beginning 11pm tonight until 5am on Monday, try to steer clear of the following areas:

Southbound:

1) EDSA, after Eugenio Lopez to before Scout Borromeo Street (beside MRT line)

2) C5, after Julia Vargas Avenue to before Lanuza Avenue

Northbound:

1) EDSA, beside Trinoma Mall (sixth lane from center island)

2) Batasan Road, from Sinagtala Street to Batasan-San Mateo Road (fourth lane)

Be sure to plan your trips accordingly or find alternate routes. It’s not a bad idea to just stay home, too. If it’s any consolation, the moratorium on roadwork in Metro Manila will begin on November 5, 2018. This measure, which will be enforced until January 19 next year, requires all roadwork and utilities repair to be carried out only from 11pm to 5am, to mitigate traffic congestion during the holiday season.
