Are you a frequent Grab user? Then you probably know of the company’s P50 cancellation and no-show fees which were imposed just last week.

Yesterday, however, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) called for a meeting with representatives from various transport network companies (TNC)—including Grab—to discuss the new policy, which other ride-hailing platforms have also implemented just recently.

The attendees agreed to form a technical working group (TWG) to be headed by the LTFRB. The TWG will further discuss fare and cancellation policies and issues relating to TNCs and other transport network vehicle services.

Operating TNCs have agreed to postpone the new fees in the meantime until further notice from the Board. On the other hand, Grab clarifies that, “no fees have yet been charged or collected, since the actual implementation of the policy was set to start next week.”

Do you think these policies are beneficial for both driver and rider? Let us know in the comments.
