With Holy Week fast approaching, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will implement Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa to provide a smooth commuting experience for everyone.
Under the instructions of Department of Transportation (DOTr) secretary Arthur Tugade, the LTFRB will work to ensure that there are enough trips available for the expected number of Holy Week commuters, as well as to safeguard the roadworthiness of PUVs and the readiness of their drivers.
As of today, the LTFRB has received 484 special permit petitions for 113 buses nationwide. These buses will travel from April 14 to 22, 2019. It has also begun putting up advisories inside terminals accross the country, and conducting ocular inspections to check if terminals are up to standard. Malasakit Helpdesks have also been set up at these transport terminals to assist and aid passengers.
Together with the Inter-Agency Council on Traffic (i-ACT), the LTFRB will also begin random inspections of franchise documents and units on April 10. The agency has likewise reiterated its ongoing commitment to its other operations: Oplan Anti-Colorum and Oplan Isnabero.
