If you plan on passing through Makati tomorrow (that's Saturday, June 2), then you'll need to plan your route properly. Starting at 1am, the Makati City Government will close off parts of the city for the 348th Foundation Day celebrations.
Makati Avenue from J.P. Rizal to Kalayaan Avenue will be shut for the street party starting at 1am. There will also be the following traffic re-routing for the parade from 2:30pm to 4:00pm:
* Vehicles coming from Guadalupe heading to Makati Avenue, Mandaluyong, or Manila: Turn left at Villena St., right on General Luna St., left at Mercado St., right to Kalayaan Avenue, then left at Jupiter St. or Gil Puyat Avenue toward your destination.
* Vehicles coming from Mandaluyong toward Ayala: Left at J.P. Rizal, then right at Estrella toward your destination.
After the parade ends, the normal traffic along J.P. Rizal will resume. However, Makati Avenue will remain closed for the festivities. If you want to minimize any traffic troubles tomorrow, take note of these changes and plot your trip accordingly. The Makati City Government warns motorists to expect heavy traffic in the aforementioned areas on June 2, so don't say weren't informed.
