So the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has expressed its intention to implement a motorcycle-only lane on EDSA. The move is part of the agency’s lane-width-reduction proposal for the busy thoroughfare, and its reception has been mixed.

On one side of the fence, there are motorists and riders who believe that it’s about time a lane exclusive to motorcycles on EDSA is implemented—that riders pay taxes, too, and that giving them their own separate lane will make EDSA both safer and more organized.
