Mayor Francis Zamora has suspended pay parking along all streets in San Juan City. The move comes not long after the official made areas surrounding the Greenhills Shopping Center no-parking zones.
Executive Order No. 007 or An Order Suspending Pay Parking in All the Streets of the City of San Juan, which was signed by Mayor Zamora earlier today, officially prohibits pay parking along the following thoroughfares:
- Annapolis Street
- Eisenhower Street
- Club Filipino Avenue
- Connecticut Street
- Missouri Street
- Xavier Street
- Grant Street
- Washington Street
- Madison Street
- Pinaglabanan Street (Filoil Flying V Center)
- Santolan Road (Filoil Flying V Center)
- All other Streets in the City of San Juan used as pay parking by the City Government or Barangay
“I have just issued Executive Order No. 7 suspending pay parking in all the streets of the City of San Juan effective August 5, 2019. This is in response to the call of President Rodrigo Duterte to reclaim all public roads in order to ease the traffic situation in Metro Manila,” Zamora announced in a Facebook post.
“This is also in support of Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Memorandum Circular 121 to clear our roads and sidewalks of obstructions. Likewise, “have directed all our Barangay Chairpersons to implement this order in their respective jurisdictions. For everyone's information.”
August 5 is next Monday. You can check out Mayor Zamora’s full announcement in the Facebook post above. Do you think the move will improve traffic in San Juan City?
