Look: PNP-HPG begins ticketing unauthorized motorists on EDSA

In case you missed it, the Philippine government has instructed the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) to crack down on unauthorized individuals driving out during the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine period (ECQ).

The development comes following a spike in cars reported out on the road over the past few days, including a whopping 108,088 reported cases of disregarding the lockdown on April 13, 2020. Only healthcare personnel, frontline workers, and employees of essential services are considered authorized persons outside of residences (APOR).

Still not taking authorities’ warnings seriously? You might be in for a surprise if you end up driving into a checkpoint. On EDSA, for example, authorities are already apprehending and ticketing motorists for disobeying stay-at-home measures.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and PNP-HPG are already warning motorists to expect moderate traffic along the busy thoroughfare because of ongoing operations. Look:
