It looks like May 4 came early for some Cebuanos.
It isn’t Star Wars Day just yet, but the 501st Cebu Scarif Garrison deployed stormtroopers to help the Philippine National Police personnel manning a checkpoint separating the municipality of Consolacion from Mandaue City. Contrary to what the Empire or the Republic might think, these two stormtroopers weren’t sent to strike fear among citizens and forcibly discipline troublemakers.
They weren’t out and about because governments are at war. Nor were they looking for any droids, in case you were wondering. TK 24150 and TK 82178 took to their posts to bring smiles to passing motorists and ease the tension at these checkpoints—something we could all use at a time like this.
Needless to say, the two guys did their job with ease. You could see passersby’s smiles through their face masks, and someone was even ballsy enough to even ask where Darth Vader was. Luckily for him, Lord Vader was supposedly showing symptoms of COVID-19 and was quarantined due to high fever and difficulty in breathing.
Anyway, all jokes aside, if you want to see more of the feel-good photos, check them out below.
