It’s that time of the year again for the City of Manila as the Feast of the Black Nazarene approaches. But of course, things will be far different from the usual this time around due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Quiapo Church will still be hosting the festivities this weekend, but the Traslacion—the grand procession of the Black Nazarene—has been canceled for 2021. Because devotees are still expected to visit the church, however, there will be certain road closures and rerouting around the Quiapo district, so motorists who reside in or will be passing through the area on January 8 and 9 should take note.

We’re sharing with you the Manila City local government unit’s official traffic advisory for this weekend’s festivities. Read on below for more info:

It’s still best for everyone to stay at home because the pandemic isn’t over yet. But for those who still opt to go to Quiapo this weekend, we urge everyone to strictly observe the necessary health protocols. Stay safe out there, everyone.
