The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) wants you to know that the use of tricycles really isn’t allowed during the Luzon-wide enhanced quarantine period—this includes the ones currently servicing frontline workers in Pasig City after Mayor Vico Sotto allowed their limited operation.

Asked about some local government units’ (LGU) permitted use of tricycles for emergency needs, cabinet secretary Karlo Nograles said that the national government is very concerned about this.

A day ago, Sotto earned praise from netizens for permitting tricycle operations within Pasig city to help frontline health workers get to work. Tricycles could ferry passengers provided social-distancing guidelines were observed.

Yung ibang LGUs naman nagcocomply. Ito nga po yung common ground rules. Let’s all stick to the common ground rules. Yun po ang pakiusap namin,” Nograles said.

Do you think tricycles should be allowed to operate in a limited capacity?
