Oil companies raise prices by P1 per liter

Bad news for those about to gas up for the week

Oil firms have hiked their oil prices by P1 per liter as early as 12:01 a.m. today with Pilipinas Shell, Eastern Petroleum and Total (Philippines) leading the pack.

Chevron (formerly Caltex) Phils. and Phoenix Petroleum implemented their price adjustment at 6 a.m.

The adjustments differed, however, per oil company. Some like Chevron Phils. and Eastern Petroleum applied the price hike on their gasoline, diesel and kerosene products while others like Phoenix Petroleum only adjusted the prices of their gasoline and diesel products.

The rising price of crude oil in the world market was the reason cited for today's price hike.
