Petron Corporation has expanded its Lakbay Alalay program into a year-round campaign, expanding it to include a number of activities that go beyond the traditional motorist-assistance services offered during Holy Week.
With the expansion of the program under its new name, Lakbay Alalay, Kasama Mo Sa Biyahe, Petron has the following campaigns lined up for this year:
Lakbay Alalay Biyahe para sa Kaligtasan. Petron will be offering emergency assistance during from April 5 to 9 at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and South Luzon Expressway (SLEX). Services will include free roadside assistance and free towing services. Participating service stations nationwide are also offering free vehicle safety checks all-year-round to help motorists ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy and safe for travel.
Lakbay Alalay Biyahe para sa Kalusugan. In partnership with the Red Cross, Petron will also be providing medical booths at its service stations located along the NLEX, SLEX and Star Tollway from April 5 to 9.
Lakbay Alalay Biyahe para sa Turismo. Petron supports the Department of Tourism's efforts to promote fun tourist destinations nationwide. Besides having the Star Toll cards designed to promote key spots in the Philippines, welcome streamers and banners will be greeting visitors in Bulacan, Pampanga, La Union, Pangasinan, Baguio City, Laguna, Batangas, Naga City, Palawan, Cebu and Davao.
Lakbay Alalay Biyahe para sa Masayang Pagdiriwang. Also in support of the government's tourism-promotion efforts, Petron will also be showcasing the calendar of fiestas in the Philippines.
Lakbay Alalay Biyahe para sa Tahanan. Petron is reaching out to local communities through outreach programs at selected barangays within Metro Manila. During the community awareness symposium, Petron representatives discuss safety measures for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and lubricants. The Bureau of Fire Protection also gives a talk on how to prevent household fires. After the symposium, Petron conducts LPG-leak checks and free change oil for automobiles. Members of Petron's Blaze Boosters team in the Philippine Basketball Association are also on hand for a meet-and-greet with the community.
Lakbay Alalay Biyahe para sa Kalikasan. This component includes barangay clean-up drives in selected communities in Metro Manila in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. With this campaign, gassing up in Petron will entitle a customer to a free Lakbay Alalay sticker and a seedling to be named after him or her. Volunteers from Petron and other advocacy groups will hold a tree-planting activity in Cebu, Davao and Rizal. A Lakbay Alalay fun run will also be held on June 17 to further boost awareness on the importance of clean air.
Lakbay Alalay Biyahe para sa Kaalaman. Petron's back-to-school program will provide professional drivers an opportunity to redeem useful items for their children. Targeted at professional drivers of commercial vehicles, a P250 single-receipt purchase of fuel entitles the customer to a Super Tsuper Card. At subsequent visits, the customer can earn stamps, which can be exchanged for rewards from April 1 to June 30. One Super stamp may be earned via a minimum single purchase of 25 liters of fuel or a single purchase of four liters of gasoline or engine oil or one liter motorcycle oil. The rewards may be claimed only at the station where the Super Tsuper Card was issued.
Lakbay Alalay Biyahe Para Sa Kabuhayan. To generate the perfect bond between Petron and the youth, the petroleum company will host a job fair for interested participants sometime in August or September.
Petron is hoping that through its expanded Lakbay Alalay program, it will "strengthen the bond of companionship and unity with Filipinos everywhere, not just during the Holy Week but in all aspects of their daily lives."
