Commercial vehicles need not be drab and boring, thanks to Autoitalia Philippines Enterprises (APE), the distributor of Piaggio commercial vehicles in the country which were on display at the just-concluded Manila International Auto Show.
A wholly owned subsidiary of the Autohub Group of Companies, APE has brought in four model variants that will cater to all kinds of businesses--whether for transport, delivery, mobile selling or special customization.
The passenger variant (P190,000) is set to dominate the tricycle industry as it is safer and more cost-efficient. The delivery van (P240,000) and pickup (P210,000) variants are ideal for fast and small-scale deliveries around the metro, while the drive-away chassis variant (P190,000) can be customized for mobile businesses.
All four Piaggio commercial vehicle variants are powered by an 8hp, 435cc air-cooled, direct-injection, four-stroke diesel engine that produces 18Nm of torque through a four-speed constant-mesh transmission.
According to APE, some of the advantages offered by the Piaggio Ape (pronounced as ah-peh in Italian) are that it's capable of running on both primary and secondary roads, is exempt from the number-coding scheme, and has a fuel consumption of 30-36km/L.
The Piaggio Ape is also a perfect fit for APE's "Arangkada Pinoy Entrepreneur," which aims to provide innovative business solutions by "converting stationary establishments into more practical mobile businesses."
You can check out APE's line of Piaggio Apes through the brand's three dealerships in the Philippines--Piaggio Otis, Piaggio Greenhills and Piaggio Quezon Avenue.
