PIMS teaser: Pinoy pride at the Isuzu booth

Isuzu Philippines is taking advantage of the 3rd Philippine International Motor Show's "Drive the Green Road" theme as it plans to showcase its fuel-efficient diesel-powered vehicles during the four-day event.

"Isuzu's mission is to provide the cleanest, most fuel-efficient diesels developed in the most cost-effective way of benefiting our valued customers," Isuzu Philippines president Ryoji Yamazaki said in a statement.

Isuzu's display during the PIMS includes the following vehicles:

Special Edition Ebony Black and a Sterling Silver Isuzu D-Max - with black-and-red leather interior, a touchscreen entertainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and GPS navigation, floor and key illumination, bedliner, and taillight garnish

Special Edition Red Magma Isuzu Sportivo - featuring a single-disc in-dash audio-video system with a 7-inch touchscreen LCD and GPS navigation, and a Carryboy roof rack

Special Edition Starry Black Isuzu Alterra - with a touchscreen entertainment package, Bluetooth connectivity and GPS navigation, a ceiling-mounted LCD monitor, a front chin and a rear chin

Isuzu Philippines will also display its latest commercial vehicles: the NHR Microbus and the NKR truck powered by a 4.6-liter turbodiesel engine.

As much as 90 percent of Isuzu Philippines' lineup is made at the car manufacturer's plant in Laguna. Isuzu's locally-produced vehicles include the Crosswind and the D-Max.

"We're glad to let the public know that 90 percent of the vehicles that we sell are locally assembled--made by Filipinos for Filipinos," Yamazaki said. "We also source parts and components that are locally available, thereby contributing to the Philippine economy."

With its participation in the 3rd Philippine International Motor Show, Isuzu Philippines reiterates its commitment in helping the country's development.

"We intend to continue (this contribution) in our effort to help uplift the domestic manufacturing industry," Yamazaki said.
