Porsche seems to be on a roll. The German carmaker has launched its fresh offering in only a week's time, with the latest honor going to the Cayman S Black Edition.

Porsche released the Cayman S Black Edition just one week after it launched the hardcore 911 GT3 RS 4.0 and only a few days after it brought out the diesel-powered Panamera.

Of all its Black Edition models, specifically the 911 and the Boxster S, the Cayman S Black Edition is the most exclusive as only 500 units will be sold, compared to the Boxster S's 987 units and the 911's 1,911 units.

Propelling the Cayman S Black Edition is the same 3.4-liter flat-six engine that powers the standard variant Cayman S. Its power output has been bumped up to 330hp, a 10hp increase over the original output, while its torque remains unchanged at 370Nm.

Thanks to the additional power, the Cayman S Black Edition's performance figures have also slightly jumped over the standard version, with its zero-to-100kph sprint now timed at 5.1 seconds with the six-gear manual transmission and to 5.0 seconds with the optional Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK), respectively. With the activation of the Launch Control on the optional Sport Chrono package, the same sprint is even faster at 4.8 seconds.

The top speed of the Cayman S Black Edition is also faster by 2kph over the standard Cayman S, with 279kph for the manual transmission-equipped variant and 277kph with the optional PDK.

Of course, the Cayman S Black Edition follows the same theme as the other Black Edition models in that black is the prevailing theme both inside and outside the car.

The driver and front seat passenger, for example, sit on black partial leather seats with the Porsche crest on the headrests. The dashboard trim is also in black as are the gear lever/selector trim and the instrument dials in the instrument cluster. To let everyone know that the car isn't your typical black-painted Cayman S, the stainless steel door entry guards have been emblazoned with the words "Black Edition" while the glove compartment lid bears the badge proclaiming the limited-edition status.

Like the Boxster S Black Edition, Porsche is equipping the Cayman S Black Edition with what are typically optional packages, specifically the Comfort, Infotainment and Design packages, making the car a bargain-priced limited-edition variant.
