Expect the country's main thoroughfare to be jammed this pay-day weekend as portions of EDSA will be closed when the Department of Public Works and Highways resumes reblocking sections in both the highway's north-and south-bound lanes.
Reblocking starts at 10 p.m. tonight and will be completed by Sunday. The lanes will be opened only at 4 a.m. on May 17 to allow the concrete to cure and harden.
Affected areas are the 157-meter stretch of a northbound yellow lane near North Avenue, 13 sections on the fifth lane used by private vehicles--with six located just before Misamis Street, the street separating SM North Edsa from the SM Annex, and seven near Corregidor Street which goes into Project 7, Inquirer.net reported.
On the southbound lane, six sections between Oliveros Drive and Kaingin Street in Balintawak, Quezon City will also be closed to traffic along with four sections between Shaw Boulevard and Libertad Street in Mandaluyong.
