A Top Fuel record falls in spectacular fashion

What happens in Vegas ends up in the history books

On November 1st, Brittany Force strapped into her Top Fuel dragster at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, waited for the lights to go out, and pinned it. Exactly 3.659sec later, she crossed the finish line at 338.17mph (544.23kph).

It was the fastest thousand-foot pass in Top Fuel history, beating the record of 336.57mph (541.66kph) set last year by drag racing legend Tony Schumacher. It’s pretty frickin’ quick. Just check out the footage above for yourself, but make sure you don’t sneeze or rub your eyes or something, as you’ll probably miss it.

Further, her run in the Advance Auto Parts Top Fuel dragster also set the track E.T. record in Las Vegas. That’s the style of drag racing that provides the most action as two different vehicles of varying performance can race against each other on a potentially even basis.
