The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has cleared obstruction in more than 50 percent of the roads, which have been designated as "Christmas lanes."
Some areas in Metro Manila have also been cleared to increase road space.
"Directional signs have already been put up by our Traffic Engineering Center to guide the drivers using these routes and we have also deployed the appropriate number of traffic enforcers to these areas," MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said in a statement.
